Take a bath every day to eliminate dirt and odor from your body so you will fell fresh and clean. For your bath, prepare the following. Mild bath soap, a small face towel or sponge to scrub the different parts of your body, a mild shampoo to make your hair clean and healthy, nail brush to scrub dirt from your nails, and a clean, dry towel to wipe the body after bathing. For bathing, follow these steps. Wet the hair thoroughly. Put a little amount of shampoo into your hair and scrub until bubbles come out. Massage for 2-3 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Wet the face towel, and then rub the soap into the face towel. Slightly pour warm water into your body. Scrub your body with towel from face to your neck and body, down to your feet. Rinse your whole body. If necessary, you may soap again and rinse. Use a dry and clean bath towel for drying your body. Remember; do not take a full bath if you are sick. A warm sponge bath will do. Wet your face with lukewarm water and clean your whole body from your face down to your legs.
Brush your teeth everyday in the morning and after eating. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles. Brush the teeth in an upward and downward motion. Begin at the front, going to the back. Massage the gums to keep them healthy. Use toothpaste. In the absence of toothpaste, use salt or baking soda as substitute. Visit your dentist once or twice a year or every six months or as needed, for dental check-up and treatment.
Trim your fingernails and toenails. Don’t allow your nails to grow long because dirt tends to stick at the ends and sides of the nails. Use a nailbrush and soap to clean your nails.
Comb your hair after bathing and at anytime to keep it clean, neat and healthy. Use a fine comb or soft brush.
Clean your ears once or twice a week. Use cotton buds for cleaning. This is safer than using cotton placed on a toothpick. This can be dangerous as it may cause accident like leaving the cotton inside your ear.
Always clean your feet, legs and hands. Clean your hands with soap and water before and after meals, and after work and play. Scrub your legs and feet with a small towel and soap. Clean the sides and corners of your feet and in-between toes to avoid athlete’s foot. Rinse well with water. Use foot powder to remove bad odor.
Eat nutritious food. Have fresh vegetables and fruits every day. Take milk, fish, egg, chicken, meat with rice and bread. These give protein and energy to stay healthy.
Have enough sleep. Sleep at least eight (8) hours or more. By doing this, your body and mind can rest and can have enough energy for the next day.
Exercise regularly. It is good for the heart, lungs, bones and muscles. Walking or jogging is a good form of exercise.
